Before and After Virtual Paint and Sip With Read Art Academy

Learn how a group of non-painters gained the confidence to paint every day!

Our last 3 blogs have been all about Virtual Paint and Sip Parties – How we became Paint and Sip hosts, The 3 mistakes people make when they go to their first-ever in-person event and the 5 things that people never knew about Paint and Sip. Today we are sharing the process of transformation. How did a group of non-painters and people with very limited art experience end up with the confidence to paint not only their first painting but continue to paint and improve their skills and techniques at any day or time of the year? Continue reading to find out how it happened.

Our Virtual Paint and Sip Subscription is an amazing all-in-one platform for beginner and intermediate creative artists or anyone who would like to start teaching Paint and Sip Parties in person. 2 new and original paintings are added every single month! We also add supply lists, templates to use as your tracer stencil and videos with step-by-step instructions. There is also a growing ‘how’ to’ section that walks you through different painting techniques and answers questions such as How do I enlarge my tracer stencil to 16x20 inches? Our goal was to teach the basics of acrylic painting to beginners and people who had a variety of creative skills already. There were people who had painted before and were ready to make the leap into running their own Paint and Sip business and those that have never painted a stroke before in their lives. Our goal was to encourage the everyday person who has never believed that they can paint, that they can do this. We devised a challenge where the beginner painters needed to complete a step-by-step painting by following live video sessions. To make things easier for each participant we provided them with a printable tracer stencil, a supplies list and showed them the painting techniques required for the painting of the day.

We got to know the new painters in the Facebook group and on the group Q&As. We listened to their issues of painting for the first time and confirmed that the challenge was going to work well for them. The Read Art community was also invited to join via email. This was self-opt-in, so those that wanted to try a Virtual Paint and Sip for the first time joined us.

Afterwards, the group were asked to critique each other’s art with positivity being the focus. People who had never put paint on the canvas before were amazed by their final picture. They couldn’t believe that they had created art when their whole life they had thought or been told that they were not artistic or creative. They found the confidence to continue!

We’re thrilled that our Virtual Paint and Sip Subscription Membership has been able to allow not only the challenge group to continue on with their creative journey but anyone else who wants to learn to paint at home can now access the membership holding over 60 original Read Art Academy painting designs.
